Winning National Debate entails hard work – Ola Girls Contestants
The Contestants from Ola Girls who emerged as the winners of this year’s SHS national debate say that to win a national debate involves a lot of hard work, good coaching and determination.
As shared during their interview, the six contestants namely Bridget Yeboah, Owusu Kuma Nana Akua, Nana Afia Adutwumwaa Emmanuella, Priscilla Afua Asiesua, Jambi Evelyn (all in second year) and Comfort Agbeko (3rd year), agreed that to reach the finals and to win the debate by beating Accra Academy required all needed effort.
The winning Team with their trophy in tow described the journey to Accra when they visited Anapua FM’s News Team. Sharing how they even had to battled mosquitos after having to spend the night at the Assembly Hall reviewing the teacher assigned scripts in preparation of the debate.
Nana Afia Adutwumwaa Emmanuella, explained that the debate is based on social related issues.
Owusu Kuma Nana Akua,took her time to educate her fellow students especially girls by saying that all must be determine and focused on their education and that just as they won others can also.”Let your books be your friends and avoid distraction by others “she added.
Ola Girls SHS which is based in Kenyasi in the Brong Ahafo region beat Accra Academy SHS, 80% as against 79.6%.
