Loan for pads shows Ghana’s level of poverty under Mahama – STUNNAD
“For a country to have reached a state where every basic need of it could only be attained through loans and grants, then we must accept the fact that the country is in the abyss. How on earth can a country that is enjoying better things and good life according to its officials cannot afford to fund one of the cheapest products in Ghana, sanitary pad for school girls?” the group asked in a statement.
It said the decision to go for loan for the project smacks of a misplaced priority when the same administration is struggling to meet its statutory payments such as the GETFund, Capitation Grant, NHIS among others.
The statement also raised questions about the ability of the government to fund the proposed free senior high school education.
“It is obvious that the NDC’s free SHS is just a scam and phony, which can never be compared with the Nana Addo’s comprehensive free education programme.”

MAHAMA’S PAD LOAN SPEAKS VOLUME OF GHANA’S LEVEL OF POVERTY UNDER HIM
For a country to have reached a state where every basic need of it could only be attained through loans and grants, then we must accept the fact that the country is in the abyss. How on earth can a country that is enjoying better things and good life according to its officials cannot afford to fund one of the cheapest products in Ghana, sanitary pad for school girls.
For President Mahama and his NDC government, irrespective of the country being blessed with anything that the earth can offer including gold and oil, the nation should always pick its saucers and silvers for begging. A government that cannot pay for statutory funds including school feeding, GETFund, Capitation grant, scholarship funds, NHIS fund, teachers’ salaries and allowances can rather go for a loan to buy pad for school girls.
Interestingly, the government that has promised free SHS education in the next two years is now going for a loan for scholarships for the same SHS students. One may want to ask the definition of their free education and who the beneficiaries are. It is obvious that the NDC’s free SHS is just a scam and phony, which can never be compared with the Nana Addo’s comprehensive free education programme.
Also if government would have to borrow huge sums of money for monitory and evaluation of construction of school building while teachers who teach the students are not paid for about a year or two, then Ghana has a long way to go under president Mahama and his inept NDC. What are the duties of the monitoring and evaluation unit at the Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Education for which another loan should be sought for same work that they are supposed to do? Who the hell advises the NDC government that the problem facing girls’ education in Ghana is sanitary pad and that we must go for a loan to buy pads for them? If Ghana today cannot buy common pad for those supposed poor girls from its own coffers then we may soon have to dig mass graves for ourselves.
Based on our intelligence on the sharing of sanitary pad, we will resist the distribution to any supposed poor girl. We like to advise every young girl who loves to see ‘tomorrow’ not to accept this demonic pad. Isn’t this same NDC who campaigned that ‘anything free is evil?’
