Actress Vivian Achor Turns Taxi Driver.
Whether this headline comes out to be real or fake based on your own judgment and interpretation, Vivian Achor is now plying a trade as a taxi driver in one way or the other.
The only difference in her line of duty is that, you might not meet her anywhere on the streets of Accra or outside of it picking and dropping off passengers. This is because her kind of Taxi Driving (Transport) business is strictly for the screens and Viasat 1 television will be the channel to make this possible for you to see her in action.
Vivian Achor has been introduced as the lead actress in a fresh local television series about to hit your television screens. Information available to Flex Newspaper suggests that all things being equal, the premiere of this series which will be called Mama Taxi will hit the screens on June 20th 2015. But why will a woman who has played all the envious roles in movies throughout her acting peak days, go down to the role of a taxi driver is one question which is begging for answer but Vivian Achor has a convincing answer.
She thinks that women should not be looked down upon when it comes to certain professional duties because they are not supposed to be taken care of all the time like children.
Vivian Achor was of the view that the work of the Taxi Driver is a profitable and a noble profession so she decided to take up that challenge to entice more women not to shy away from the Taxi profession.
Interestingly, she will not be the only female Taxi Driver when the series hits the screens as there will be Tina Ghansah who also starred in the Mama Taxi series as a supporting actress playing a similar role. Some respectable names in the production who will be making us happy soon including Dan Tei-Mensah, Emmanuel Armah and Tina Ghansah.
When Flex Newspaper contacted Martin Aboagye from Total Communication Limited, he also revealed that due to the several stores around the taxi business, it will be very difficult for women to join that profession but he stills sees the need for this education because they want to help improve the living standards of women in our society.
According to a press release signed by Martin Aboagye, A portion reads “The aim of Mama Taxi TV series is to encourage women to take advantage of the prospect in the taxi business rather than engaging in less rewarding businesses we normally find them doing on most of our major roads and in the society at large.”
For keen followers of Ghana’s television industry, we have had Taxi Driver on our screens before which had some wonderful actors like Papa Nii, T.T, Aboagye, Master Richard and the rest but the new one called Mama Taxi will just blow your mind couple with some comedy as well.
