Ghana’s Emmanuel Tagoe handed himself a warm Boxing Day present when he knocked out Tanzanian Sidicki Momba in the WBA Intercontinental Lightweight on Friday night.
Tagoe, known as the “Game Boy” knocked out his opponent in the 6th round having managed to put in more punches in the early rounds.
Momba, who put up an inspiring and spirited performance in the bout organized at the Tennis court of the Accra Sports Stadium, could not last the full session after picking up an arm injury in the 6th round which gave the referee no option than to bring the bout to an end.
Meanwhile, Michael Ansah a.k.a “Bullet” also edged past Ishmael Aryeetey on a unanimous decision in the undercards fight whiles Raymond Commey defeated Kenya’s Nick Otieno in the WBA Pan-Africa Super Bantamweight championship.
The keenly contested bouts organized by the Baby Jet Promotions was attended by several Sports personalities including legend Azumah Nelson as well as Black Stars players who have return from their respective Clubs for the Christmas holidays.
