Bench Warrant Affected Me — Wisa.
Hiplife artiste Wisa, has revealed that the one week period within which a bench warrant was issued against him was an extremely difficult period for his career and his personal life.
In an interview with Showbiz on Friday at Accra Circuit Court, Wisa said the bench warrant issued for his arrest meant he was unable to move about freely and as a result, missed out on a number of shows and other business opportunities.
An Accra Circuit Court presided over by Her Lordship, Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku last week issued a bench warrant for the arrest of hiplife artiste, Wisa after he failed to show up in court when a case against him was called.
On Friday, lawyer for Wisa, Jerry Agbenovor asked the court to rescind the bench warrant issued against his client.
Explaining the reason for his client’s absence at the last court date, he said that while his client, Wisa, was on his way to court, he had stomach upset which resulted in his inability to make it to court on time.
He apologised to the court on behalf of his client and asked the judge to give Wisa, real name, Eugene Ashie, another chance.
Her Lordship, Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku was still unable to hear the case last Friday since the investigator of the case, Chief Inspector Edward Adjei-Odame, who was in possession of a video which allegedly shows Wisa exposing his genitals on stage, was absent from court. She then adjourned the case to February, 24.
Wisa is standing trial for allegedly showing his manhood while performing at last year’s Decemba2Rememba concert organised by Accra-based Citi FM on December 24.
Midway through his performance on stage, the musician while wriggling his waist behind a female dancer drew down his white boxer shorts and allegedly pulled out his manhood and rubbed it against the lady.
