The eagerly anticipated boxing showdown between local rivals, Braimah Kamoko and Ayitey Powers edges closer to a confirmation date after Kamoko signed up for the fight, AllSports.com.gh http://allsports.com.gh/ can exclusively report.
Kamoko, the unbeaten Cruiserweight famously nicknamed Bukom Banku signed his part of the contract to fight Powers at the cradle of Ghanaian boxing, Bukom in Accra on Saturday precisely the hours of 16:46 before a huge crowd.
An hour after Banku signed the contract, Ayitey Powers appeared at the crowded scene much to the expectation that he will also put pen to paper to seal the highly sought after bout.
But AllSports.com.gh http://allsports.com.gh/ understands Powers has started dragging his fists, demanding a huge paycheck of GH?20,000 (twenty thousand Ghana Cedis) even as we understand Bukom Banku has agreed a moderate GH?5,000 to make the dream fight happen.
In the end, Ayitey Powers could not sign his part and left the scene with the huge crowd hailing him.
CEO of Box Office Sports Promotions, Alex Ntiamoah-Boakye whose outfit are set to stage the mega fight billed for April 26 at the Accra Sports Stadium, confirmed that Banku has signed his part of the contract to fight Powers. Mr. Ntiamoah-Boakye said he is expecting Powers to sign his part within the week in other to make the long awaited fight happen.
