Budget Analyst contradicts claims that collected taxes are not used for development
The Budget Analyst at the Asutifi North District Assembly has debunked claims made by several people that taxes collected by the Assembly are not used for developmental projects for the people.
Speaking to Anapua News exclusively, Owusu Daniel, stated that it was impossible that the assembly could misuse the taxes collected for projects in the district as accounts were rendered to the appropriate heads of departments and the public representatives by the assembly.
The District Budget Analyst added that the collected taxes were used in several ways such as building public latrines, construction of school buildings, public markets as well for the construction and maintenance of roads within the district.
He concluded that the Assembly had created a special office to educate the public on tax issues for transparency sake. Thus anyone was welcome to visit the office for any clarification or information.
