Cambridge United boss still keen on Kwesi Appiah
The boss of the lower division side is eager to have the striker of Ghanaian descent in his fold again
Cambridge United boss Money said he is still keen to see Kwesi Appiah return from Crystal Palace, despite the signing of Ashley Chambers and Matthew Barnes-Homer to boost the side up front.
He said: “We’ve still left room because you can’t have enough forwards at this stage of the season.
“In an ideal world you want two to start a game and two to come on and rotate every other game because our forwards have to work extremely hard in this team to be part of the defensive unit, score goals and create as well.”
“We talk to either Kwesi or his agent regularly and I’ve told Kwesi that no matter what he sees in terms of who we bring in, we’d still like to bring him back,” Money revealed to Cambridge News.
“Palace are aware of it, but it depends on whether there’s anything else for him to go to in the League because he won’t go anywhere else but us if he comes to this level.”
Appiah scored 10 goals for Cambridge in his short loan spell to propel them to the top of their league before returning to his parent club Crystal Palace late December.
