DCE – Urge youth to be part of NABCO initiative
The Asutifi North District Chief Executive officer in a meeting with some senior citizens in his district has informed them to urged the youth to be part of the Nation’s Builders Corps (NABCO) initiative.
Addressing the over 50 senior citizens on a retreat at Wooden Tower Restaurant at Kenyasi the capital of the district, Honourable Anthony Adjei Mensah explained that as senior citizens they still have a vital role to play by ensuring that the youth take bold and good decisions to make their lives worth living.
He said, the government headed by the President has several initiatives which will go a long way to benefit the youth and the best people to counsel them are the aged and pensioned ones so they should take such responsibilities.
He added that NABCO, commissioned by the President at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology(KNUST) in Kumasi several weeks back aims to employ over 100,000 tertiary graduates with seven different models. This is to ensure to reduction in unemployment in the country as well as providing financial incentive to the youth by paying each participant 700 cedis per month.
Hon.Mensah advised the senior citizens to desist from using the initiative as politics since it is becoming the norm in the country.” NABCO is recruiting all Ghanaians and not just political party members” HE said.
