District Assembly will only issue permit to houses with toilet facilities

The Environmental Health officer at the Asutifi South District (Brong Ahafo) has said it is compulsory for all home builders to include the construction of a toilet facility during construction.

According to Seth Adjei in an interview, permits are only given to site plans with both toilet and bathroom facilities in his district after intensive study is made by site engineers at the assembly.

He said from the assembly’s review of homes in the district,there were some new houses without these two facilities however in due time they will be questioned by the assembly.

He added that the assembly has urged all older houses owners without toilet facilities to always visit the public ones no matter the distance.

Without these facilities Mr Adjei continued, there is no proper means of disposing of human waste and in turn this can lead to the outbreak of diseases in the community.
