Everton seeking Baba Rahman
English Premier League side Everton have joined a list of Clubs interest in Chelsea left-back Abdul Baba Rahman.
The Tofees wants the Ghanaian international as a replacement for ageing Leighton Baines who might not get a contract renewal after completing his deal with the Club.
Baba Rahman is approaching full fitness after sustaining an injury during Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations game against Uganda in January this year.
The defender has been on the mend for the past 11 months due to the setback.
He recently joined Group training hence would be playing with Chelsea’s reserve side should he gain full fitness after the Club excluded him from the squad list for the 2017/18 season.
With Monaco, Fenerbahce and Fiorentina all showing interest, Everton will need to put in extra effort to sign the former Ghana U20 player.
The 23-year-old was signed from German Club Augsburg in a fee around £14million in 2015 but managed a handful of games before sustaining the injury.
With Chelsea aiming to sign Brazilian wing-back Alex Sandro from Juventus, Baba Rahman’s future with the blues still remains in huge doubt.
Having spent some time on loan at German Club Schalke O4, the Royal blues are also keen to make a permanent deal for the Black Stars defender.
