Ghana Defender Addy Makes Injury Return
Ghana defender David Addy had returned to the Vitoria Guimaraes side for the Premier League clash against Benfica on Sunday.
The 23-year-old missed the side’s midweek Europa League triumph over Rijeka due to injury.
The left-back however came through full scale training during the week after his injury fears were allayed.
The Ghana international had to withdraw from last weekend’s top flight win at Rio Ave after pulling out with a knee problem.
Addy was however told by doctors after a thorough examination his injury was not as serious as initially feared and was given the all clear to resume full scale training with the side after a two-day rest.
Coach Rui Vitoria however decided Thursday’s Europa League clash will come too early for his defender.
But Addy has now been named in the 20-man squad for Sunday’s Portuguese leage match against giants Benfica.
