Ghana striker Waris joins Ligue 1 side Valenciennes
The Ghana forward has switched from the Russian top flight to the Ligue 1 side that is languishing at the relegation zone and hopes to help them move from the drop zone
Spartak Moscow striker Abdul Majeed Waris has joined Valenciennes, the president of the French Ligue 1 side Jean-Raymond Legrand has confirmed.
The 22-year-old completed talks with the relegation-threatened club on Thursday as they hunt for a goal poacher to revive their hopes in the French top flight.
Goal Ghana understands the former BK Hacken forward has agreed a loan deal until the end of the season.
The former Swedish Allsvenskan goal king becomes the second major signing of Les Athéniens after securing the signature of Algerian and Monaco defender Carl Medjani.
Waris hopes the move to the Ligue 1 outfit could provide him more first team play time that will enhance his Ghana call-up for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
