Ghanaian man shot 3 times in the UK, dying words “I haven’t done anything to anyone”

James Owusu’s killers casually walked up to the open front door at his home and shot him three times at close range.

A young man gunned down at his family’s home told his mother he didn’t know why he had been shot as he lay dying in her arms.

As shooting victim James Owusu, 22, was cradled by his mother, Deborah, he told her: “I haven’t done anything to anyone.”

Mr Owusu’s boss revealed that his killers casually walked up to the home’s open front door and shot him three times at close range.

The business student’s mother has been left “distraught” and “hopeless” after she rushed to his aid and tried in vain to stop the bleeding.

Met Police said no one has been arrested after Mr Owusu – who worked at a shipping firm in Wembley – was shot in Tynsdale Road in Harlesden, north London, on Wednesday night.

Mr Owusu’s boss told the Evening Standard that the young man had watched a Champions League match with his uncle, who was visiting from Ghana, and then went to his best friend’s house next door.

His boss added: “He came back around 10:30pm. He’d left the door slightly open and they put the gun around the door. He was shot three times and fell to the floor just inside his house.

“His mother ran to him and said ‘Why has this happened? Have you done anything to anyone?’ He said: ‘Mum I haven’t done anything to anyone. I don’t like trouble’.”

The boss said Mr Owusu’s mother tried to stop the bleeding from his side and stomach, but he died at the scene.

Shocked neighbours told GetWestLondon they thought the gunshots were fireworks .

Tributes have been paid to Mr Owusu, who also worked as a DJ called Skillzy, on social media by friends and family.

One Twitter user wrote: “My cousin, you are in God’s care now. This is too surreal right now.”

Another added: “RIP James Owusu a humble guy who wouldn’t hurt a fly who was killed for simply living where he lived.”

A relative wrote on Facebook: “R.I.P. Cousin James Skillzy Owusu. I can’t even believe it’s you. Always was the mediator and forever showing love to everyone. At least you’re in a better place now . Sweet dreams.”

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Detectives have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Harlesden.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 10:45pm on Wednesday, 2 November, to reports of a shooting in Tynsdale Road, NW10.
