I won’t say anything about my absence at Dumsor vigil – Lydia Forson.
The actress, who is one of the architects of the vigil, failed to appear at the well-attended vigil, #dumsormuststop, last Saturday.
There were several rumours that the Lydia had ditched the organisers and her colleagues and jetted off to the United Kingdom.
Thousands of Ghanaians poured onto the streets – from Legon old gate to the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange – Saturday to join celebrities Yvonne Nelson, Van Vicker, Prince David Osei, Barimah Sydney and others, to protest and press on the government to solve the crisis.
Apart from Lydia Forson, rapper Sarkodie was also absent from the event. Sarkodie missed out on the event due to a music video shoot with American hiphop star Ace Hood in Miami, USA.
Lydia Forson, in an apparent response to the rumours as to why she didn’t attend the event, tweeted that “There’s always a side you haven’t heard, always…”
On Monday, the actress went on to state that even though she has a lot to say about her absence from the vigil, she will rather stay mute due to the respect she has for the campaign.
“There’s a lot I want to say about my absence from the vigil. But out of respect for the cause I will stay mute. #TruthAlwaysComesOut,” she said on twitter.
Lydia added that “So I will just allow the misconception to go on, after all why should I worry about what’s not true. #TRUTH.”
She noted that her choice to remain silent on the allegations, does not derail her commitment for the vigil.
“Just know this, if I commit to something I’m in %110. Keyword #COMMIT,” the actress said.
The vigil, which was a peaceful procession by the celebrities and their fans with lit candles, torchlights, and lanterns, was an offshoot of a social media campaign #?dumsormuststop that Yvonne Nelson started.
