Indian automaker to build assembling plant in Ghana
President John Mahama has revealed an Indian automaker has initiated moves to build an assembling plant in Ghana.
The assembling plant will target the local and West African market.
It unclear which auto maker will be making the move as officials have remained tight lipped over the name.
India has one of the largest automotive industries in the world with Indian multinational automotive manufacturing companies Mahindra and Tata Motors Limited two of the giants in the industry.
President Mahama said the company together with a German pharmaceutical company expressed interest in investing in Ghana during bilateral talks at the World Economic Forum held recently at Davos, Switzerland.
