Invest in your ward’s education – Headteacher tells parents
The Headteacher of Saint Peter’s Catholic basic school at Kenyasi No. 2 in the Asutifi North,Brong Ahafo region, has today urged parents to invest hugely in their children’s education.
Madam Charity Chanla urged this at the church hall of St.Peter’s Catholic at Kenyasi when the school staged the 2018 KG Graduation ceremony for 31 children who are moving on to class one under the theme “Quality Education, A Shared Responsibility”.
She explained that education is the major key to success for any individual. As such parents must get involved hugely by paying attention to the basic needs of their wards as they school at all levels.
She stated that parents needed to provide food, shelter, clothings and all fundamental learning materials such books, pencils, pens and others for the children to make them have the excitement to learn.
Madam Charity Chanla said it was time for parents to stop purchasing unnecessary items for their own use and focus more on their WARD’S education since it will go a long way to benefit the family, District, Region and Ghana as a whole.
She added that though the government is assisting students, the parents also have a huge role to play since a worthy education was collective responsibility.
Madam Charity Chanla said, the aim of the graduation ceremony is to prepare the KG 2 pupils and officially move them to the main stream level of basic education which begins at class one.
The graduates displayed several talents such as dancing, poem recitals, cultural display and many more. In attendance were some Executives of the education directorate, parents, Men of God, Teachers, other Headteachers from schools and the public.
