Kufuor arrives in New York on Climate change meeting
Former President Kufuor has arrived in New York for a meeting with officials of the United Nations and the World Bank on his new appointment as Special Envoy on Climate Change.
Mr. Kufuor and his co-Special Envoy, former Prime Minister of Norway Jens Stoltenberg will have two days of meetings with officials of the two world bodies to strategize on the execution of their new roles.
The two leaders were appointed last month by UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon.
They are to sensitize Heads of State, governments and key stakeholders to keep their pledges on minimizing the green house effect which has increased climate warming across the world.
Former President Kufuor’s Spokesperson, Frank Agyekum in an interview with XYZ News said his boss takes his new assignment seriously.
