MP presents desks to Asutifi North District Schools
The Member of Parliament(MP) for the Asutifi North District, Honourable(Hon) Joseph Daha, has today presented desks to the Education Directorate to be given to needy schools.
The total number of desks given is 400 and each desk can accommodate two pupils, summing the numbers of pupils to benefit at 800.
Gracing the ceremony held at the District assembly’s premises in Kenyasi, were the DCE, Education Director and other Executives, Head teacher, Assembly Executives and the Media.
Hon. Joseph Daha in his presentation said, while on tour in the district whenever he on parliamentary break, he found out that most schools under his watch have deficiency in terms of furniture to boost education so he thought it wise to get the pupils desks.
He appealed to the schools authorities to ensure that the desks motivate pupils to report at school especially those who absent themselves due to the lack of seating availability.
“Myself and the assembly will continue to provide all the needed materials to boost education in the district ” He said.
Augustine Amoako Asare, Education Director, received the desks on behalf of the schools and thanked the MP for being there continuously for the schools in needy times.
Augustine Amoako Asare suggested to the MP to turn his attention also to other areas of education where schools in the district lacks but added that he was doing a great job.
The funds for the 400 desks were derived from the MP common funds.
