Young Ghanaian artistes are becoming more daring and creative with their acts, but last Friday, it seemed hiplife artiste, Akoo Nana, took his too far by parading naked female dancers at the Tigo Unplugged concert at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Wash and Wear singer presented the three naked dancers to back him but the show organisers dragged them off stage to save the programme from any embarrassment.
The dancers, whose faces were covered with paper masks, were virtually naked except for pieces of scanty loin cloths covering their underparts.
For close to five minutes, the topless dancers vigorously shook their ample bosoms in the full glare of the thousands of patrons, including children, who had come to watch the concert, until event organisers decided to escort them off the stage midway through their performance.
The energy with which the half-naked dancers shook their bodies to Azonto and Alkayida rhythms meant that at certain times, the pieces of cloth covering their nether regions slipped out of place exposing their bare bottoms to all.
But for Akoo Nana’s ‘nudity’ act, the concert, organised by Telecommunication Company, Tigo, to launch their new music application, Dezeer, saw exciting performances from some of Ghana’s and Nigeria’s biggest music stars like MzVee, Davido, Guru, Sarkodie, Joey B, Pappy Kojo and Shatta Wale.
