Patrick Kluivert has no interest in coaching the national team of Ghana according to his agent.
The former Barcelona striker was one of five names short listed by the Ghana Football Association to replace Kwesi Appiah but the comments by agent Rob Jansen puts a spanner in the works for the association.
In an interview with Ghanasoccernet the agent who also counts a host of big names like Leroy Fer,Philip Cocu and Manchester United midfielder Daley Blind as clients discounted the interest of his client.
“Patrick has no interest in this position now. He wants at this stage to focus on a club and not a country job”’
“He would rather wait until a proper offer from a club in Europe comes along.”
Kluivert’s exclusion will leave the GFA to pick between Michel Pont,Avram Grant,Marco Tardelli and Juan Ignacio Martinez when they open interviews on October 17.
Kluivert’s pull out will be a major disappointment for some fans of the Black Stars with opinion polls giving him an advantage to takeover the position.
