Results of ministerial performance review to be made public
President John Mahama on Tuesday began the performance review of his ministers with the Ministers for Energy and Education.
The Presidency has since revealed that the details of the assessment of the two Ministers and other Ministers who will take their turn will be made public from Wednesday.
This performance review process is expected to feed into the president’s decision to terminate or renew the mandate of the sector Ministers.
Civil society group, the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD) on Monday asked the presidency to make the results of the performance review public in the interest of good governance.
But addressing the media at the daily press briefing at the Flagstaff House on Tuesday, a Deputy Minister for Information and Media Relation, Murtala Mohammed, explained that although the CDD made the suggestion, the Presidency had already taken the decision to make public the results of the assessment process.
He stated that on Wednesday, “part of the detailed information will be given” in relation to the set targets of the various Ministries, their achievements and their constraints.
