Rose McGowan claims Harvey Weinstein’s team offered her $1M in hush money
Someone in Harvey Weinstein’s camp may have offered a lot of money in exchange for Rose McGowan’s silence.
The actress, through a lawyer, told the New York Times that “someone close to Mr. Weinstein” offered her $1 million if she signed a nondisclosure agreement.
She countered with $6 million.
“I had all these people I’m paying telling me to take it so that I could fund my art,” she told the Times.
“I figured I could probably have gotten him up to three,” she said. “But I was like — ew, gross, you’re disgusting, I don’t want your money, that would make me feel disgusting.”
A day before the first New York Times exposé, in which dozens of women accused Weinstein of sexual harassment or assault, McGowan pulled the offer

“No more. Name it. Shame it. Call it out. It’s time to clean house!”
In a blanket statement, Weinstein has denied all nonconsensual sex.
