Shadrach Eghan brace puts FC Twente top

Ghanaian youngster Shadrach Eghan yesterday put in a sensational  performance for FC Twente against FC Groningen to see his side top the table.

Eghan, who broke into the first team from the youth team last season netted a brace in a 5-0 rout. Rasmus Bengtsson broke the deadlock in the 19th minute with Eghan scoring in the 28th and 54th minute. Dusan Tadic and Jesus Corona were the other scorers.

He was a member of the U-20 national team, but did not make the final squad for the African Youth Championships. His brace on Sunday brings his goals tally to 3 for the season, after scoring against PSV Eindhoven earlier in the season.

FC Twente now top the Eridivisie level on points with PSV and Heerenveen and the 19-year old will be looking to continue his good start to the season to aid his club’s title push.
