Shatta Wale is not competition; he’s a brother – Stonebwoy.
According to him, the dancehall artiste only compliments the dancehall music genre that they both do.
For some years now, an unmatched level of rivalry has brewed between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale with many attributing it to a turf war of who is supreme when it comes to dancehall in Ghana.
The two artistes, between them, command a huge share of the dancehall fan base in Ghana.
Recently, there were reports that the two have initiated efforts to diffuse the tension between them.
Stonebwoy surprisingly invited Shatta Wale to join him on stage to receive one of his awards at the 2015 4Syte Music Video Awards at the Accra International Conference Centre earlier this month.
Speaking on the relationship between them on the Super Morning Show on Joy FM Thursday, Stonebwoy said Shatta Wale is not a competition.
He said, “Shatta Wale to me is not a competition, sincerely speaking he compliments the movement that we have all been wanting to get to where it is today.”
“That is fair competition to me because without other artistes pushing it to the limit how would you rate how hard you are working. I see Shatta Wale as a brother,” the award winning artiste added.
