Sunyani Area Sachet Water producers outline measures to combat plastic pollution

A Member of Sunyani Area Sachet Water Producers,Ophelia Nana Ama Twenewaa, has stated that there are good measures put in place by her association to combat the rampant increase of plastic pollution in the country.

She made this know in an interview in regard to the 2018 World Environment Day under the theme ” Beat Plastic Pollution”

She narrated that soon the association will visit all basic schools in the association jurisdiction to educate the pupils on how to keep the surrounding clean and plastic-free.They will be informed on how to dispose of sachet rubber after they have consumed the water.

She disclosed that the association will award pupils who excel in the assembling of the rubbers by giving them books, pens, mathematical sets and many more. By so doing, the communities will be free from plastics.

According to Ophelia Twenewaa the people in the communities are not left out since they can also gather the sachet rubber and call a number for the recycling firms to only pick this up but also pay them for it.

She disclosed, retailers are also urged to educate customers to position rubbers at appropriate places so the retailers can call the same number for recycling which is 0509180125.

Ophelia Nana Ama Twenewaa who doubles as the Chief Executive officer of Ahafo Based sachet water manufacturing company Adom Royal Ice Mineral Water, said all efforts are made to clamp down plastic pollution so all hands must be on deck.
