Teacher trainees to demonstrate over unpaid feeding fees
The Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) is threatening to embark on a nationwide demonstration on Monday if government fails to pay their feeding fees.
According to the teacher trainees, government has failed to pay their feeding fees to their respective training colleges in the past semester.
“As it stands now the first semester has ended, we have not seen any feeding fee of any trainee being paid in any of the colleges of education. We are almost one month in the second semester and principals are finding it difficult to feed trainees,’’ the National President of TTAG, Mohammed Ameen Mansiru told Citi News.
Government has scrapped the allowances paid to teacher trainees and replaced it with loans as well as feeding fees for trainees.
But speaking to Citi News the National President of TTAG said members in all the ten regions will demonstrate simultaneously and petition appropriate stakeholders because government has failed to deliver on its promise.
Ameen Mansiru noted that most students have not been able to secure the loan forms for the new student loans.
