The 2012 Vodafone Icons winner, Wiyaala, has swept two desirable awards at the maiden edition of the ‘All Africa Music Awards’ (AFRIMA) held in Lagos, Nigeria a few weeks ago.
Wiyaala, a proven ambassador for Ghanaian music, won two 23.9-carat gold-plated trophies for The Most Promising Artiste in Africa and The Revelation of the African Continent.
Since winning the Vodafone Icons reality show in 2012, the young songstress from the Upper East Region has captured a string of awards and citations including Face of Pepsi Ghana, Converse All Stars Brand Ambassador for Ghana, the Youth Achievers Award of the Upper West, Female Personality of the Year at the Sissala Prestige Awards, and Music Ambassador for the Upper West region.
Commenting on the awards to journalists in Lagos, Wiyaala said:
“I am grateful for being recognized yet again. I am optimistic that my success as a young woman will inspire many youth in my community and the entire country to strive for greatness”.

The All Africa Music Awards was broadcast live on109 TV stations and attended by a host of international African music celebrities including Davido and 2face Idibia from Nigeria, DJ Arafat from Cote D’Ivoire, Mi Casa from South Africa, Ahmed Soultan from Morocco, Laurette La Perle from Democratic Republic of Congo and a host of others.
