US Nurse Michelle apologises to Anita De Sooso.
The US professional nurse and philanthropist Michelle McGowan who accused NDC’s National Women’s Organiser of threatening her life has apologised for making such a remark.
Ms.McGowan was in Ghana to support the treatment of three children with strange skin diseases in Jirapa District of the Upper West region.
They were diagnosed with dermatitis, a rough skin condition for which reason they were called alligator kids.
Speaking on Adom FM’s ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Monday, Ms.McGowan felt sorry for damaging Anita De Sooso’s reputation, saying, “I am offering my heartfelt apology to her for any damage my statements have caused her”.
Following the supposed threat, Anita De Sooso was banned from entering the United States.
She was prevented from boarding a Delta Airline flight to New York at the Kotoka International Airport on Monday, August 4, 2014.
She was to join President John Mahama for a conference in the US.
Ms.McGowan indicated that the “Anti-Corruption Squad tracked Anita. “I don’t know what information they gathered on her but they flagged her when, instead of going for a conference in New York, she went to California. The conference was for a week but she never made an appearance at the conference.”
Ms. McGowan continued “anything that I did to her, as a sister in Christ, I’m sorry it is unfortunate that things happened the way they did.”
According to her, it was never her intention to hurt Anita because “we are not supposed to hurt each other so if you hurt anyone; you must apologise and it was never my intention to hurt her.”
Anita De Sooso, on the other hand, accepted the apology and advised Ms. McGowan not to allow herself to be manipulated by anyone.
“Do not allow anyone to use you. Next time, try to tell the public the truth because what you said hurt me, but because God is alive, I have been able to come out of it,” she stated.
The purpose of Ms.McGowan’s call was to bring lasting peace between both parties, realizing, the horrible things which had come out of the comments she made.
