Mzbel Has No Strong Talent – Okraku-Mantey.
His comments came on the back of claims by the singer that Ghanaians are overly criticising her for her suggestive lyrics, music videos and images.
Chief Executive Officer of Slip Music, Mark Okraku-Mantey has observed that Mzbel’s talent as a musician is weak.
His comments came on the back of claims by the singer that Ghanaians are overly criticising her for her suggestive lyrics, music videos and images.
According to Okraku-Mantey, Mzbel never complained about the harsh criticisms during her heydays. He stated that the artiste was rather thriving on that, coupled with her hit songs.
“Mzbel’s talent has also been seen by me as weak. She always used physique which is not bad in selling but if the product which is her song is not there, we give you away. It is because the product has neglected her. Some people had said worst things about Mzbel years ago but she didn’t complain because her songs were hit,” he said on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz on Thursday.
Few weeks ago, Mzbel expressed her disappointment in comments from a section of the public which seemed to suggest that she is pornographic. She rebutted that Ghanaians should appreciate her talent instead of chastising her.
She questioned why Ghanaians respect the arts of Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Kathy Perry, Madonna, Kim Kardashian but fail to appreciate hers.
“With all due respect, I will like to make it clear to everyone that I am not a Porn Star. I am very confident and comfortable with my body even after having a child. The suggestive photos u see of me are strictly art and act and that is showbiz. If u can appreciate and respect Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Kathy Perry, Madonna, Kim Kardashian etc then try to do the same with Ghanaian female artiste[s] and stop tagging us with negative and bad stuff. Let’s not be hypocrites, art and act is beautiful. Hope we have an understanding, thanx #Mzbel #MzbelMusic #SayNoToIllegalConnection #BeLAndTheCity #TeamHashem #GodOfIsrael #KeepGhanaClean #ShikoMe #MzbelBaybeeee,”she posted on Instagram.
Mzbel shot to fame early 2002 after releasing her debut albumAwoso Me. Her second, 16 Years gave her more prominence in the industry. She is currently promoting her Legelege track.
