Hearts of Oak beat Kotoko 1-0 after controversial penalty awarded [Video Inside]
GNA – Accra Hearts of Oak inflicted a painful lone goal victory over Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the eighth week Ghana Premier League (GPL) game on Sunday, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts who have not beaten Kotoko in the last eight at the Accra Sports Stadium in a league match had the only goal of the game through Vicent Atinga.
This was after Samuel Yeboah’s shot was adjudged by referee Samuel Suker, to have hit the hands of defender Ahmed Adams and whistled for penalty in the 85th minute.
Amidst protest, Hearts converted the penalty a minute later to win the day.
Prior to this, the performance of both sides did not meet the expectation of the fans at stadium.
They failed to create any clear cut chance throughout the game and this was evident in the fact that none of the goalkeepers was given any serious challenge.
