Kanye appears to have lost 9M Twitter followers after Trump retweet

Kanye West on Wednesday appeared to lose more than 9 million Twitter followers in the minutes after President Trump retweeted the rapper’s declarations of “love” for the commander in chief.

West’s counter showed almost 28 million followers when he tweeted, “You don’t have to agree with Trump but the mob can’t make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother.”

But minutes after the president retweeted the post — adding, “Thank you Kanye, very cool!” — his counter plummeted to 18.7 million.

The sharp decline also coincided with West tweeting a photo of his signed “Make America Great Again” hat — although he’d been tweeting praise for the president for several hours by that point.
