Virtual hospitals now introduced to Ghana
For the first time in the history of the healthcare sector, patients can access healthcare without going through stress.
This follows the successful signing up of over 1,000 medical doctors under the Convenient Healthcare Access Scheme (CHAS), who will be on call 24 hours to attend to patients throughout the year.
Clients who sign up the scheme have the option of having their doctors attend to them at home, work places or the hospital at their own convenience. The scheme allows a doctor to attend to a maximum of two patients per hour.
“However, doctors will not see patients after 7pm in their homes or workplaces for security reasons,” said Nana Amo, Executive Director of CHAS.
He told Myjoyonline.com in an interview that, the scheme operates a structured electronic system which allows clients to schedule appointment with their doctors with a code.
“Each doctor will only see a maximum of two (2) patients per hour. Pay Gh?200, Gh?500 or more annually to join the scheme. You will receive different types of cards that determine whether you want to see the doctor at home, your workplace or in his/her consulting room in the hospital or clinic”.
