The Porcupine Warriors retain their supremacy at the top of the log after mauling King Faisal in the Ashanti derby with a 3-0 win in mid-week, but Hearts and Ashgold lost
Asante Kotoko proved superior over their city rivals King Faisal in a 3-0 win in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.
The Porcupine Warriors have stretched their lead on the log after Hearts of Oak and Ashantigold lost their games. Kotoko sit at the top with 27 points whiles the Phobians follow with 23 with the Miners following with 22.
Faisal’s Pius Baffour gifted the Porcupine Warriors with the opener through an own goal in the first half. Striker Seidu Bancey bagged a double to seal a formidable win for the defending league champions.
At the Robert Mensah Stadium, Hearts of Oak lost to Medeama in a 0-1 game, but remain at second position. Kabiru Moro scored in the 85th minute to break the hearts of the Phobians.
Ashantigold lost to new entrants Inter-Allies. Dennis Antwi and Prosper Kassim scored for the Tema-based side to send the Miners leaving empty-handed.
