Utility tariffs go up: 9.7 % & 6.80% respectively

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has announced new tariff figures which take effect from the 1st of January 2013.

Electricity has been increased by 9.7 percent across board and water is up by 6.80 percent.

The latest figures according to the PURC is as a result of the full implementation of the Automatic Adjustment Formula (AAF).

Factors that influence the Automatic Adjustment Formula include price of crude oil on the international market, the cedi-dollar exchange rate, rate of inflation amongst others.
