Kwasi Appiah Hunts For Striker
BLACK STARS trainer Kwasi Appiah says he has begun a search for a potent striker for Ghana.
“I am currently monitoring two strikers,” the coach stated in a radio chat, but he did not mention names.
He said the Black Stars’ over-reliance on Asamoah Gyan and Majeed Waris was not the best for the team.
“We need to have back-up in the striking department of the senior national team,” he opined.
Kwasi Appiah warned that it was not good for a team of Black Stars’ caliber to always rely on just two strikers.
The Ghana trainer said he hoped to discover at least two new strikers before Ghana emplaned to Brazil for the World Cup.
Kwasi Appiah stated a case for local coaches when he became the first Ghanaian coach to qualify Ghana for the 2014 Mundial.
The Brazil World Cup presents a platform for him to shine and state further the case for local trainers.
