Bisa Kdei Rocks Togo, Funnyface, Asamoah Gyan Party Inside Adebayor’s Private Nightclub.
Ghanaian contemporary highlife musician, Bisa Kdei thrilled his fans in Togo over the weekend, when he performed at Tottenham Hotspur striker, Emmanuel Adebayor’s SEA Foundation Festival. Bisa rocked the stage with a simple but well-coordinated performance of his hit songs including ‘Azonto Ghost’, ‘Odo Carpenter’, ‘Give It to Baba’ and more.
Bisa Kdei was also supported on stage by Ghanaian comedians, Funnyface Benson and Salinko during his performances, adding more fun and excitement for the crowd. Bisa also performed for the first time ever, his new song with British-Nigerian singer, Lola Rae. The musician who went to Togo knowing that his songs were quite popular in the country was however not fully aware the extent to which his songs were known in Togo.
He commented: “Before going to Togo, I was told that my songs were popular over there. When I started doing the media interviews ahead of the concert, I was told that the youths of Togo really loved my songs, and even had their own versions to my song. But I didn’t know that they were able to also sing along my Twi lyrics since Togolese mainly speak French and Ewe. It was particularly overwhelming performing in front of the crowd and hearing them sing along”
The two -day SEA Foundation Festival kicked off on Saturday, June 13 at the Marcelo Beach with beach soccer, music, fun and games. The festival was then climaxed on Sunday with a huge concert at Stade Municipal De Lome with electrifying performances from Bisa Kdei and the many others including Nigeria’s Wizkid, Ivory Coast’s Serge Beynaud, and a host of top Togolese artists including Tach Noir, Snaky da Future, NIA, Almok and Dieudonné Willa. The event was hosted by popular Togolese comedian, Gogoligo and Gbadamassi.
The after party continued at the state-of-the art nightclub inside on of Emmanuel Adebayor’s plush residences, where Ghana’s captain Asamoah Gyan made a surprise appearance. As usual he couldn’t help but dance the night away.
