Celebrities have given little back to the community
The Host of the Mid Morning Affair show at Brong Ahafo based Anapua 105.1 FM, Sammy Asare, has said that celebrities in the creative arts industry in Ghana have given little back to the communities.
Speaking to Dj Jawas on infotainment, he explained that most of the initiatives taken by some celebrities to help people who are in need of something for a short or medium term usually amounts to nothing.
Sammy who is popularly known as Dj Sammy Sam added that celebrities like Sarkodie , Shatta Wale , VVIP , Becca and many more are doing well by giving back to fans but it seems the beneficiaries only enjoy those donations for a short term rather than it being everlasting.
He cited an example of Sarkodie meeting his best 100 fans for a dinner , interaction and signing autographs which is good but not the best of initiatives to change the lives of poor people in the communities.
Again he said Shatta Wale gave iPhones, laptops and car to loyal fans which is good but once again not the best of ideas to change the lives of people permanently.
Sammy advised all celebrities to help communities with permanent initiatives such as putting people into jobs and securing them with gadgets after learning trades such as getting them shops and many more.
He said the management teams of celebrities must be up and doing for communities to benefits massively from celebrities because the same communities pushed them to where they are today.
