by Michael Oti Adjei
The Ghana Football Association want evidence of Kevin-Prince Boateng’s injury after the midfielder told them he will be unavailable for the world cup qualifying play off against Egypt next Tuesday.
The GFA had held out hope that the Schalke midfielder will be available for the crucial first leg despite an injury he pi ked up for his club last Saturday.
But Boateng has told them he will not be able to take part and the GFA has demanded a medical report for proof that the injury will rule him out for that long.
“The message we received from Kevin is that he is most unlikely to come for the game”, Nyantekyie said. “We have demanded a medical report from him. Our doctors will study the report and advice us accordingly. If the medical team advice that there is enough basis for him to be excused we will rest the case.”
Boateng reurned to international football in June this year after two years of self imposed absence. He opted out of the last qualifier against Zambia in Kumasi in September and revealed he had not played because had concerns about the quality of the pitch.
