Ghana Premier League week 13 wrap: Polo leads Hearts to edge past Dwarfs, Kotoko maintain four-point gap
Hearts legend Mohammed Polo began his stint on a good note as he led the Phobians to record a 1-0 victory at Dwarfs. Meanwhile Kotoko, Lions, and Ashgold also won on match day 13
Accra Hearts of Oak passed the test in Cape Coast as they beat Ebusua Dwarfs 1-0 at the Robert Mensah stadium. Thomas Abbey’s first half goal was enough to hand Mohammed Polo a win in his debut match. The Phobains are still four points behind holders, Asante Kotoko who won against Amidaus Professionals.
Yahaya Mohammed returned to Tema to haunt his former team, Amidaus as his brace gave the Porcupine Warriors the needed three points. Mohammed had already scored at the same venue when Kotoko beat Inter Allies 1-0 in October.
At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Prince Baffoe’s lone goal for King Faisal was enough to down Inter Allies.
Berekum Chelsea’s woes continued as they left the Kpando Park with a 0-3 defeat to Kpando Heart of Lions.
Ashgold are still third on the log after beating Sekondi Hasacas 1-0, thanks to Bernard Morrison’s spot kick.
Elsewhere, Medeama Sc and New Edubaise United shared the spoils after Victor Ayire’s goal for the homeside was cancelled out by Stephen Manu.
Aduana Stars became three points richer after Emmanuel Allan Skido got the only goal against Wa All Stars.
Liberty Professionals moved to the 7th position following a 2-1 win against Bechem United at the Accra Sports Stadium.
