Gov’t rejects Joy FM apology to Mahama
Government has rejected and described as inadequate an apology rendered by Accra based radio station, Joy FM over a publication government says has impugned the integrity of the presidency.
The media house published a story with the headline “Presidency stopped Merchant Bank from recovering debts from company owned by president’s brother”.
The story however turned out to be untrue with Joy FM subsequently apologizing to the President. But government in a statement signed by a deputy Minister of Information, Felix Ofosu Kwakye described the apology as inadequate.
He also urged the media house to render a full apology and give it the prominence the earlier publication was given or else steps would be taken by government to seek redress in the matter.
