Kevin Prince Boateng scores acrobatic goal in 2-1 loss to Villarreal [See Video]
Cedric Bakambu denied Kevin-Prince Boateng’s Las Palmas the opportunity to take a precious away point on Sunday night with his injury-time goal at El Madrigal which secured Villarreal a 2-1 win.
Boateng had put the visitors in the lead in the 31st minute when he volleyed home from a Tana flick for his third goal of the campaign.
The hosts had to wait till midway through the second half to equalize via Nicola Sansone’s penalty after Roque Mesa’s foul on a Villarreal forward.
The Ghanaian attacker was taken off on 80 minutes after failing to add to his tally and being shown his third yellow card of the season.
Bakambu earned the clincher on 92 minutes when he got onto the end of a Roberto Soriano pass after what seemed like a foul on a defender before shooting past Raul Lizoain.
It was the DR Congo striker’s second goal of the season in four starts for the Yellow Submarine.
