Kwame Awuah Darko is new BOST MD
Kwame Awuah Darko has been appointed as the new Managing Director for the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Ltd (BOST).
Mr. Awuah Darko who was the parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the last national election assumed his new role last week Friday.
He holds a B.A (Law) Degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and has an M.B.A from Henley Management College UK and is the founder of Money Systems International, a global remittance company.
His appointment comes a few weeks after agitations from workers over the poor running of the company by the management and board of the company.
Mr. Awuah Darko comes in at a time when the company’s reserves at all its storage facilities have dried up.
BOST was incorporated in 1993 as a private Limited Liability Company with government as the sole shareholder to develop a network of storage tanks, pipelines and other bulk transportation infrastructure throughout the country and to keep Strategic Reserve Stocks for Ghana.
BOST currently has storage facilities at six locations across the country at Accra Plains, Mami-Water, Akosombo, Kumasi, Buipe and Bolgatanga with plans to develop same at Takoradi and Wa in the long term
