Mrs. Mahama who is the President of the Lordina Foundation has adopted the country’s orphanages and makes periodic donations to support the upkeep of the children. The Foundation also provides support to the caregivers in the Homes and helping with infrastructure to improve the conditions in some Homes.
Madam Christina Addo of the Osu Children’s Home conveyed the appreciation of the children and their caregivers to Mrs. Mahama, recognising that she has been a long time friend and benefactor of the Home. She also thanked the First Lady for the new block being constructed for the Home, which will be completed early next year.
At the Christ Faith Children’s Home at Fafraha, Mr. Kofi Adu-Boahene praised the First Lady for her kindness noting that “apart from festive seasons she also donates items occasionally to the Home, for which we are very grateful.”
Mrs. Mahama, through her Lordina Foundation, has also lined up a Christmas party and donations to other orphanages in the country. She will also be making some donations to health facilities and spend some time with the women in the Gambaga Witches Camp.
