NSS Coordinator advises personnel and communities
The Co-ordinator of the National Service Secretariat(NSS) in the Asutifi North District has sent a word of advise to both the posted national service persons to the District and the residents as well.
Speaking to the News Team via telephone today, James Sherperd said it is mandated for all posted persons to the District to contribute their quota to the District in all aspects to develop it.
He added, the government is currently paying over 500 cedis per personnel each month across the length and breath of Ghana so there is no excuse for them to fail the District and the people in it.
James Sherperd again told them to take the district as their own as they work seriously to make it one of the best in Ghana. He said they should try and establish a rapport with the residents here in order to get a helping hand which is key to development.
He appealed to home owners to kindly reduce rent for the personnel so that their allowance is enough to sustain them while serving in the District. He narrated that he has received reports indicating some house owners do not want to accept a year fee and also collect a flat rate for utilities which is unfair.
He disclosed that residents must take them as their own in order for the district to get the best from them for the development of the area.
The total number of national service persons in the Asutifi North District is 219. Of this, half are for the education sector and the rest being posted to various government units such as Health, Assembly and many more.
