NSS donates to Kenyasi prisons

The National Service Secretariat in Asutifi North District has donated items worth over 1000 cedis to the Prison Service camp called settlement in Kenyasi.

The items include bags of rice, sugar,clothing,toilet rolls,soaps and gallons of cooking oil.

Kingsley Koranteng Asante,the President of the 2016/17 batch of the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) in the District who made the presentation said the group found it necessary to give something to the inmates at the camp in order to let them feel that society cared about them even though they were in prison for committing a crime.

He added that this new initiative for the NSS in the District would be done annually.

Kingsley Koranteng encouraged individuals and corporate companies to follow suite and “show love” to the Prison Service and the inmates.

The Staff of the Prison Service thanked the NSS for their kind gesture and pledged to use the items accordingly to benefit the inmates.
