Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel insists the club will only sell Neymar if they can secure a replacement.
Neymar, who missed the Copa America with a foot injury this summer, did not feature for PSG in their shock 2-1 defeat against Rennes in Ligue 1 on Sunday.
His future remains the subject of intense speculation, with Tuchel making no secret of the fact he could depart the club this summer.
Tuchel has offered a fresh update on his star man and revealed there have been few developments – but he has now declared finding a replacement is a key condition of letting him depart.
“We can’t lose Neymar without replacing him,” Tuchel said after their Rennes defeat.
“If we keep him, we have a player that can win the one-on-ones and that is sometimes necessary.
“Nothing has changed. The market is open, it will not be resolved today or tomorrow, things are not set in stone.”
Tuchel also clarified why Neymar was not involved in their squad for the second straight Ligue 1 game.
He added: “It is not possible for him to play because he has not yet done any training with the others and the risk of injury is too great.”
Barcelona have been linked with a swap deal involving Neymar which could hand PSG a direct replacement as well as driving down the transfer fee.
But the chances of such a deal happening have taken a recent hit with Philippe Coutinho set to secure a loan move to Bayern Munich and Ousmane Dembele reportedly rejecting a move.
As a result, rivals Real Madrid could be a more likely destination, particularly given big-name summer signing Eden Hazard has already suffered an injury and striker Luka Jovic has struggled to make any impact early on.
