Tamale to host 2014 VGMA Nominees Jam on April 5
After an initial rift over which of the two cities, Northern regional capital Tamale and Volta regional capital Ho, would host the 2014 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Nominees Jam, organizers have settled on the former for the event.
The Nominees Jam was initially scheduled for Tamale but was later changed to Ho for some unknown reasons.
But after protests by music fans in Tamale, organizers have announced that the big music fiesta preceding the main awards night on May 2 at the Accra International Conference Centre will be held in the Northern regional capital.
The Nominees Jam, an integral part of the annual music awards has over the years been staged in Takoradi, Accra and Kumasi.
The Tamale event will be held on April 5 at the Tamale Sports Stadium and is expected to attract about 40,000 music fans in the Northern regional capital.
An impressive list of music acts including Sarkodie, Samini, and last year’s Artiste of the Year winner – R2Bees – are among the acts set to perform at the 15th annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards’ Nominees Jam.
Other ‘crowd pleasers’ who are also set to rock that event include, Castro, Bisa Kdei, Stonebwoy, and Joyce Blessing.
