Newmont Company donates to Health Centers in Asutifi South & North District Assemblies

Newmont Company in Ahafo has presented a variety of items imported from Europe and America worth millions of cedis to all the Health Centers in the Asutifi South and North Districts in the Brong Ahafo region. The items include hospital beds and various drugs.

The Community Development superintendent of Newmont in Ahafo, Richard Adu who made the donation on behalf on the company said it was the company’s aim to assist in maintaining the health of the residents in the communities in which it operates.

He said the items provided to the various Health Centers were based on special demands made by each center.

He advised the Heads of the various centers to take good care of the items and use them properly in order to boost health care in the Districts. He said the company will continue to support the communities in all aspects as it is already doing.

The Coordinating Director of Asutifi North District Assembly, George Mensah,applauded the company for supporting the district in education and health related matters.He urged the company to keep on assisting the residents in all of the mining communities.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Asutifi South, HON.Dwomoh Mensah Robert,added his voice by saying the contributions made by Newmont in the district was helping all its residents.

The District Director of Health Service, Asutifi North, Richard Kwasi Henneh,thanked the company and pledged to use the facilities as directed.
