Cash for seat: Akufo-Addo demands answers from Alan Kyerematen
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has in a query letter asked the Trade and Industry Minister, Mr Aan Kyerematen to explain circumstances that led to financial demands from the expatriate business community who took part In a recent awards ceremony.
Information available to Graphic Online indicates the President is livid over the issue and is demanding immediate answers.
Mr Eugene Arhin, Communications Director at the Presidency who confirmed this to Graphic Online’s Mabel Aku Banaseh said a query letter from the President to the Trade and Industry Minister asking for responses has since been sent.
He said the letter was directed through the Chief of Staff.
The Trade and Industry Minister, Mr Alan Kyerematen was yet to respond to the President’s query at the time of filing this report.
On Monday the Minority Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa alleged extortion of between $25000 and $100,000 from expatriate businesses to determine how close to the president they sit at an awards ceremony for expatriate businesses.
